PORT ARANSAS, MUSTANG AND PADRE ISLAND PROPERTIES

Howdy. It looks like the summer is nearly gone. It's been a hot one but at least we have dodged the hurricanes that came into the gulf coast area and hopefully we shall continue to do so. That's the good news but there is lots more.

The fabulous new 18 hole  beach front Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course has scheduled its soft opening for September 4th and the big celebration with Arnold Palmer on hand has been scheduled for October. Expect a flurry of activity when that occurs. Lots of excitement and interest. This course is unquestionably one of the finest in the entire country with fish stocked lakes, fabulous views and a challenging course.

Despite the golf course news and the recent completion of the golf cart overpass over the highway opening up the bay and gulf sides of the highway to the course, the market continues to be soft. According to comments made by Gary Allen, with WLC Waterfront Communties, LLC, in this summer's issue of Ideal Living, the last quarter of 2007 showed the real estate market hitting bottom and during the first quarter of this year the real estate market showed little signs of recovery. Although the market will probably continue to be anemic the rest of this year, it is showing signs of recovery with all indications that it will get better with each remaining quarter. When we reach 2009, "prices will be on the rise ... and "by early 2010 the market should return to more normal growth and pricing."... so this time should represent some of your best buying opportunities. 

We have been fortunate to have picked up some outstanding listings and we encourage you to take a look at our property at 471 Marina Drive and 356 Blue Heron in Island Moorings as well as our listings at The Moorings, The Mayan Princess, the Island Dunes, the Dunes and the Sandpiper. The city's airport  investors are about to begin some major improvements that include, among other things, new larger hangars. Pilots should take note - lots of opportunties to lease or buy these hangars. The airfield is generally packed with small jets and prop planes on weekends and on holidays. It is a sure indication that the island is changing.

Among the newer upscale resort condominium communities in Port Aransas are The Palmilla, the Harbours, The Moorings and homes at Cinammon Shore, Tortuga Dunes and elsewhere. We have links to many of these properties that you can check out.
